Do you know that “International Jazz Day” is celebrated annually on April 30?
UNESCO and its Goodwill Amabssador Herbie Hancock have announced that the seventh annual International Jazz Day will be celebrated on April 30, a tradition which has its origin in 2012.
The programme is jointly promoted by UNESCO and the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, the world famous music education organization in America, for the purpose of comprehension and understanding of different cultures around the world through the diplomatic role of jazz music.
Together with the 195 UNESCO member states, the Institute coordinates activities around the world with the aim of letting people know more about jazz music.
