The John and Alice Coltrane home named National Treasure

The home, where the musician lived with his wife from 1964 until his death in 1967, named “National Treasure”
The Coltrane Home in Huntington, N.Y., where John Coltrane lived with his wife Alice from 1964 until his death in 1967, and where one of the most important records in the history of music, A Love Supreme, was composed, has been named “National Treasure” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The organization will take care of the renovation and the preservation of the monument, which is presently in danger, as well as of the construction of a public park in the land surrounding the house.
The “Friends of the Coltrane Home” association, moreover, would like to perform here music education programmes, in order to honour the musician’s heritage in such an important and representative place.
