Piece of Mind is Adonis Rose’s live album recorded at the Blue Llama.
A New Orleans drummer with a prestigious career spanning more than twenty-five years, Adonis Rose has just released “Piece of Mind” for Storyville, his latest album recorded live at the Ann Arbor’s club Blue LLama.
The record features the drummer with Tia Fuller on alto, Maurice Brown on trumpet, Sasha Masakowski on vocals, Miki Hayama on piano and Jasen Weaver on double bass.

The album features ten songs that range between soul, jazz, blues, hip-hop, contemporary, jazz-rock, and extraordinary ballads. The title track is particularly fascinating and emblematic: it begins as a ballad but soon becomes a powerful medium that seems to have come out of the soundtrack of “Three Days of the Condor” and envelops the listener in long solos.
A live album that can be listened to several times with the only regret of not having been able to be there during the recording!
