Bob James is a pianist and keyboardist born in Marshall, Missouri, on December 25, 1938. He started playing the piano at the age of four. In 1962 Quincy Jones signed him to an album deal with Mercury Records.
During the 80’s, Bob James’ works were closer to pop and electronic music.
Hands Down is his most representative work. It’s a very popular record and a great example of the “Smooth Jazz” style.
