What about the Funk Apostles, what future plans do you have?

Oh man, it’s my baby! We have been playing together for about three years now, and soon we will release our new album. We got some strong songs now, the music is new and progressive and is so inspiring to us.

Your career as a professional musician started at a young age; what’s the secret?
For a young musician it’s important to want to be consistent, day in and day out. Wanting to pursue your goal and your passion, whether money comes or not. People often think that being a musician automatically means living as a rock star. But it’s really not. I tell young people to be ready to go towards some tough time, trying to find your passion and keep discovering the love to play your instrument no matter no rains and no sunshine.
During your career you have played with many different musicians; what are you looking for in another artist?
I just look for playing more music with people with whom I can feel good also offstage having a conversation. It is not really only the music, we are a band of brothers offstage, and this makes the music onstage cooler. You don’t need a similar background, the Funk Apostles came from different places, and played in different types of gig.
What do you think about Internet and the new music distribution technologies?
It’s the reality of our life. YouTube has been great for me personally. However streaming is giving to artists almost nothing. You have to figure out how to navigate in this new kind of musical industry.
Which new artist do you particularly appreciate?
I like Louis Cole and Knower’s stuff! We played together in Family dinner volume 2 of Snarky Puppy. I love the music they put together, it’s very catchy, they make awesome videos and songs about crazy topics, and the arrangements and the production are amazing.
