Larry Carlton is an American jazz guitarist born in Torrance, California in 1948. He was a famed studio musician with exceptional technical skills and he took part in the recording sessions of superstars like Steely Dan and Joni Mitchell. He was also a member of the fusion band Crusaders.
Carlton has won four Grammy Awards. His main instrument is a 1969 Gibson ES-335. His musical style is a fluid and emotionally charged smooth jazz with a particularly beautiful and recognizable guitar sound.
