The album En La Imaginación. Jazz tribute to Marta Valdés, is produced by the Italian record label Dodicilune, which released it on May 30 in the series “Fonosfere”.
The singer Paola Lorenzi and the musician, composer and arranger Pedro Mena Peraza reinterpret eight themes from Marta Valdés’ repertoire.
The project was born after the two artists’ experience at the Festival Internacional Boleros de Oro (2003/2005) and at the Recital, to celebrate the seventieth birthday of the composer in La Habana, and continues in Italy in order to contribute to the spreading of her very beautiful melodies, which are unfortunately still unknown in the Country.
The CD is completed by the previously unreleased track “A Marta, un Bolero”, proposed in two versions (classic bolero in quintet and in vocals and Hammond organ duet).
