Remembering Luca Messineo

Back in 1996 I started teaching guitar courses in Rivoli. Among the first students was a you-can’t-not-notice-me local redneck named Luca: American boot, leather jacket, rocker lifestyle. Over time, we became friends and he became a good player. And over time, together with his group (Solspezzato) , he became a classic of Valsusa live music.
We have always remained friends with great mutual respect. In 2018 I decided to record the first solo album in my name (which was produced by me and Matteo Pellizzola and the friends of AlfaMusic then – in 2019 – released as “Zen # 4”, you can find it everywhere), and I wanted to involve my friend Ivano Rossato on a track. The last track on the album which is titled “Mutual Dreaming” was the one recorded together.
A tribute to dream yoga and lucid dreams. Unfortunately also a tribute to Luca, who tragically left us at the beginning of the year.
Today is October 6 and it is his birthday (I would have bet it was on October 8th, as you will see at the end of the video, but that’s Johnny Ramone’s, another guitar legend, though!), and to wish him happy birthday Ivano and I decided to have this video made by Mirco Fantauzzi.
