Myles Sanko is an excellent singer blending jazz and soul. We interviewed him.

What made you desire to be a jazz singer?
I became a singer because I was moved by the positive reaction I got from people when I sang. I also find music very mystical. I hope to truly understand why we love it so much and need it in our everyday lives by being part of it.
In your opinion, What is jazz today?
Today’s Jazz is a middle ground for true expression and freedom. Jazz is so powerful that you can combine it with different genres to create something fresh and exciting to the ear. Jazz is really on the come back: a radially growing genre among the younger generations, which is what they need.
How did you choose, arrange and write songs? And how do you choose the musicians you play with?
I try to write every day! I get inspiration from the world around me, by things I hear on the radio, read in magazines, see on the internet, hear in passing conversations I write those lines down. When it comes the time to arrange and write a song, I bring all those ideas together with melodies and chords. My phone is full of voice notes, enough for 5 albums! Choosing the musicians is easy because I always work with the same guys I tour with, who are now part of my family.
