Roberto Bindoni’s latest album is titled Summer Things. It is a (guitar) solo album.
In my opinion Roberto Bindoni is one of Italy’s top guitarists. I fell in love with his music when I heard “Mediterranean Cowboy”. A passion that was then confirmed when I discovered “Winter Things”, the first part of a pair that is now complete with the new album “Summer Things”.
While “Winter Things” was dedicated to the exploration of the most dreamlike and electronic worlds, “Summer Things” is a journey into the most delicate and sunny acoustic sounds. A solo album for classical and acoustic guitars. It not only highlights Bindoni’s valuable performance skills (he remains one of the best Italian guitarists, so to speak); but, above all, it highlights his amazing compositional skills.
The quality of the recording is impressive, and it enhances both the compositions and the performances. The songs that I enjoy most are “El Sueno De Manuelito”, “Chris” and “Dialogue With Myself”. But, the whole album deserves to be listened to, especially if you love the guitar.
