Rosa Brunello Y Los Fermentos at Turin’s Milk Club

Rosa Brunello Y Los Fermentos played at Milk, Turin, for the MILK Jazz WAY fair, last February. Most of the songs were taken from their new “Shuffle Mode” album, which was about to be released. Well known all over Europe for her ability in breaking barriers between score and improvisation, Rosa -with her Fermentos- seduced the audience with a perfect mix of acoustic and electric sounds, and electronic textures. Rosa Brunello (bass, electronics) played with Michele Polga(tenor sax, electronics), Frank Martino (electric guitar, electronics) and Luca Colussi (drums).

Luigi Tessarollo Trio at Turin’s Milk Club

Luigi Tessarollo Trio played at Milk, Turin, on February, 25th. It was the 20th night in the “MILK jazz WAY” fair. The setlist included elegant arrangements of popular pop songs (i.e. Fabrizio De Andrè’s “Il Pescatore”), along with original compositions and renowned jazz pieces. Together with Tessarollo on guitar, the lineup included two masters of jazz: Enzo Zirilli (drums), well known for his releases as leader and collaborations with many world-acclaimed musicians, and Ares Tavolazzi (double bass) who played in the italian progressive-rock band “Area”.

Zu with Mats Gustafson at “Jazz is Dead” festival

The italian jazz-core band Zu toured last June to celebrate the reprint of their masterpiece “How To Raise An Ox”. They played, as the epilogue of the festival, at Jazz is Dead in Almese (Turin). Massimo Pupillo (bass), Luca T. Mai (saxophone), Jaco Battaglia (drums), Mats-Olof Gustafsson (saxophone) are the lineup which recorded the album in 2005. Zu played the entire “Carboniferous” album in a powerful performance.

Flavio Boltro BBB Trio at Turin’s Milk

Flavio Boltro played in Turin, with his BBB Trio, on December 17th. The setlist was based upon their new “Spinning” CD: it was a night of intense and passionate jazz. The concert was part of the series taking place at Milk every Monday – known as “MILK jazz WAY”. The “BBB” acronym comes from the surnames in the trio’s lineup: Flavio Boltro (trumpet), Mauro Battisti (bass), Mattia Barbieri (drums).
