Cinzia Tedesco @ Moncalieri Jazz Festival – “Like a Bob Dylan”

“Like a Bob Dylan” is an original project by Cinzia Tedesco in which the vocalist interprets, as the only one in Italy, the most famous tracks by the American artist with a surprising jazzy mood. The arrangements by the pianist Stefano Sabatini add value to Tedesco’s interpretation; the singer is also accompanied by Alessandro Guiss on keyboards, Luca Pirozzi on double bass and Pietro Iodice on drums.

Kora Beat at Turin’s Milk Club

Kora Beat played at Turin’s Milk on March, 4: they introduced their recently released “Yakar” album. Kora Beat’s music merges African rhythms and melodies with a powerful modern jazz stream. Cheikh Fall’s voice and kora (a traditional west-African harp) and Gi Denitto’s alto saxophone make out the band’s sound, while electric bass (Andrea Di Marco), drums (Sam Mbaye) and African percussions (Badara Dieng) build a strong rhythm section. The 21st night of MILK Jazz WAY fair was in the sign of great music, with unexpected guests, and unchained dance, led by dancers from Turin and Africa. Jazz knows no boundaries.

At FolkClub Torino Enzo Zirilli, guest with his Radio Londra Series, performed with a high level quartet featuring Furio Di Castri on double bass, Nico Morelli on piano and Rick Margitza on tenor saxophone. The audience particularly appreciated Morelli’s sensibility and virtuousism, Zirilli’s precise and sharp drumming, Di Castri’s articulated sound and the warm sound expressed by Margitza, who is Miles Davis’ last tenor saxophone. In the end, FolkClub faithful and demanding audience warmfully applauded the band.
