Allen‘s second album for Blue Note after the EP A Tribute to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, The Source features eleven instrumental tracks written by the leader, together with the saxophone player Yann Jankielewicz. The line-up is formed by Rémi Sciuto and Jean-Jacques Elangue on saxophone, Nicolas Giraud on trumpet, Daniel Zimmermann on trombone, Mathias Allamane on bass, Jean-Philippe Dary on piano, Vincent Taurelle on keyboards and Indy Dibongue on guitar.
