Who are the musicians that will play at this year’s edition? And what location will you use as venue?
This year we are featuring renowned artists from Belgium (Tcha Limberger), France (Sébastien Giniaux), Canada (Denis Chang), as well as from the Netherlands (Christiaan van Hemert). We have also invited a musician from Japan (Kumiko Imakyurei) to join us.
Eventually, the festival will take place on March 17 as follows:
<音樂會CONCERT>
熱爵士俱樂部 Ensemble du Hot Club
2019/3/17 14:30~16:30
Place:松菸誠品表演廳eslite Performance Hall
台北市信義區菸廠路88號No.88, Yanchang Rd., Xinyi Dist., Taipei City 110, Taiwan
Is Gypsy music growing in Taiwan?
Recently, there are more and more musicians interested in this kind of music. We still hope there will possibly be more players joining us in the field of swing and improvised music, so as to make music scene versatile.
What are the main differences between the 2018 edition and the 2019?
We have invited some new artists, Sébastien Giniaux from France and Christiaan van Hemert from the Netherlands. Sébastien will perform with his stylish improvisation and Christiaan will focus on teaching our participants with different levels in our workshop.
Who is the perfect audience for this festival? Young or old, musicians or not…
It is a weeklong music camp with performances every night, including a final concert with our main artists. The first two have been a huge success. The second edition of the festival, in 2018, attracted participants from France, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand. As a result of that, we expect more participants this year. Any instrument could join this workshop; the musicians will be grouped according to their level.
There will also be a music camp for this event, where we will teach. And to make sure that all courses are available, we also offer private classes and concerts.
The final concert is definitely for anybody who likes Gypsy Jazz. We hope friends will come from all over Asia (or elsewhere) to attend this event!
