La sesenta y primera edición de los Premios Grammy tuvo lugar anoche, en el Staples Center en Los Ángeles.

Estos son los premios de las principales categorías:
Mejor Álbum del año: Golden Hour – Kacey Musgraves
Grabación del Año: “This Is America”, Childish Gambino
Mejor Nuevo Artista: Dua Lipa
Mejor Álbum Rap: Invasion of Privacy – Cardi B
Mejor Álbum R&B: H.E.R. – H.E.R.
Mejor Canción Rap: “God’s Plan” – Drake
Mejor Álbum Country: Golden Hour – Kacey Musgraves
Canción del Año: “This Is America” – escrita por Donald Glover y Ludwig Göransson (cantada por Childish Gambino)
Mejor Performance Dúo/Grupo Pop: “Shallow” – Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper

Los premios Grammy se consideran una especie de premio “Oscar”; nacieron en 1965 y son otorgados por la Recording Academy. 2019 será el último año que Neil Portnow presidirá la Recording Academy (su mandato expirará en julio y no ha sido renovado.) La principal novedad de la edición de 2019 fue la ampliación de las cuatro categorías más importantes (Grabación del Año, Álbum del Año, Canción del Año y Mejor Nuevo Artista) a ocho candidatos, en comparación con los cinco de las ediciones anteriores, con el objetivo de representar tantos géneros musicales como sea posible en las nominaciones.
