Lee Konitz (October 13, 1927) 生於芝加哥的猶太家庭，自小喜歡和兄長收聽電台廣播，深受著名單簧管演奏家 Benny Goodman 的影響，這對他日後在酷派爵士上的音樂成就有很大的影響。和他合作過的爵士樂好手個個大有來頭，包括 Duke Ellington、Louis Armstrong、Jim Hall 及 Gerry Mulligan 等。
