Wes Montgomery (1923-1968) 是爵士音樂史上其中一個偉大的吉他手，他剛好銜接上 Swing/Bebop 的年代，並能在其後的硬式咆勃（Hardbop）及後咆勃（Postbop）年代中盡展所長。近代的爵士吉他大師中，例如 George Bensen、Pat Metheny 及 Lee Ritenour 等，皆有著他的影子。The Incredible Jazz Guitar Of Wes Montgomery (mono) 是他的第四張個人大碟，於1960年由 Riverside 唱片公司發行，他請來了鋼琴家 Tommy Flanagan、低音提琴手 Percy Heath 及鼓手 Albert Heath 助陣，由 Orrin Keepnews 監製。此唱片完全能夠展現出他的神奇吉他技巧 “thumb picking”，而不需要使用 pick 去演奏，表現簡直是出神入化。
